Well , Eric It sounds like your boss is a real cheap skate. Hey i have used that tool and it cuts about 5 minutes off my replacement times. So now I can do an average replacement it 55minutes instead of an hour. Good luck with your boss.

Great tool!!!!!
cuts down on the removal time
In most cases you don't even have to get in the car
comes in electric or cordless
can be used on all 4 sides of the cut out but mainly best for the bottom
no more cutting dash boards with the long knife
time and energy saving BIG TIME

I HAVE SEEN THEM LISTED ON EBAY A WHILE BACK FOR A DECENT PRICE
HAVE YOUR BOSS CHECK ON THERE. BEST TOOL FOR THE BUSINESS WISH I HAD ONE YEARS AGO.

Hello !
I am Daniel from Romania,East Europe.
We r in the biz for nearly 15 years by now,and we tried allmost all the tools in the market. There is not any recipe for general use,you must adapt the techniques to the very model you work on,and even the same model would be attacked differently, according to its age, status and integrity. For instance, once the previous windshield has been allready changed by a non-dealer of the brand,or the car has been kicked in its history,or the previuos adhesive was other than the required one by the dealer...here are some particular situations that may affect the technician´s decision.
I want to emphase this:GAIN AS MUCH EXPERIENCE YOU CAN GET ! Read and learn all that is related to your job. Get and try the new tools that your provider forwards to you;some will satisfy someother will not. Anyway,do not throw away the ones that do not respond at the moment, there might be any other future situations which might be resolved by the tool you have just returned to the supplier !
If you think you might talk to me or teach me something new, please feel free to call 0040744920337.Please,notice my place´s official time is GMTplus2h. Sorry, but my service is not 24/7 !
Wish you good luck, all of you, glass people !

the express cutout tool is in my mind a must for serious glass installers. when used with a variety of blade sizes you can attack many windshields and speed up your install time with somewhat less effort. corded or cordless is up to you. on some model of cars you cant use it in some places around the pinch weld... but the tool would be a nice addition to your arsenal of tactics to get a windshied out. keep the blade wet!! keep the bead of urethane you're cutting wet!! I recommend water only... makes a removal go smoother & saves the wear /tear on you & the tool!

I am sure by now (1-25-06) Eric talked his boss into an Express Tool, but for those of you that are viewing this tread, I think I can shead some light on the Express Tool. I invented the tool and use it every day. It allowed us to cut labor from a 4-1/2 man shop to a 2-1/2 man shop and virtually eliminated injuries due to removals. The tool allows the installer to remove more glass each day with less stress on himself and the vehicle. I have had many older techs (50+) say that it has kept them in the business. The key is to keep the blade sharp (I recommend the Express Blade Sharpener) and use a 2 quart pump sprayer to put plenty of lube on the blade and cutting surface.

Is this Express simular to the Equalizer???

I currently own a Equilizer & it works wonders. It is really a awesome tool. But I'm always open to new products.

GlassMan....the Express Tool is manufacuted and distributed by the company Equalizer...they also have made and sold a removal tool, the Equailzer for many years...kinda confusing. The Equalizer Express is the tool we are all discussing, here. As I mentioned in the earlier post, I am inventer the tool ( I run a retail glass shop ) and jointly developed modifications to the tool with Equalizer. You can find the Express at many glass distributors, equalizer.com and autoglassolutions.com.

My bad, I actually meant to say Extractor..............My questions was meant to ask if the express tool & the extractor were simular, but I'll go see for myself.

I've been using the BTB tool for several years and they came out with a 40% more powerful version in 2002 or so. It's the only tool I need to use. Can't see too many people getting an extractor or express in behind a small quarter glass or reaching the furthest bead on the Aztec quarter glass.

Get them to send you a demo CD, you won't look at another tool again.

The company is Australian but they have a location in the USA and I believe distributors throughout Europe.
