The internet is another great source to advertise your auto glass business. Today is easy to have your own website for free or for a small fee. If you don't have one yet get one because it will help your business. Many of us advertise on printed yellowbooks and other sources, but have no idea how to get customers searching for your business on the internet.
My customer base is 85% online and the rest offline - Why? Because I advertise my business online most of the time. I think, many customers see the internet as an easy way to find what they are looking for. Remember that most of them represent a different segment of the population and my experience with them is very positive.
Having a website with few pages about your business should not be a hard task. But if your planning to make it to the first page in google, yahoo, or msn for your keyword is another story. Keep in mind what your business is and what a seo person is.
My question is: Hom many members of this forum have a website?
I have recently opened my website hosted by Yahoo, it costs me $12 a month but I like the web-development tools, size and space allotments and numerous amounts of email names you can have.
I optimized my site based on local serches, I am not nationwide. More important than the host and size limitations is optimization, if they cant find you, your site is worthless! Learn how to use meta tags and robots! :)

I have a website http://www.jjcautoglass.com
I have done all the SEO optimization myself and get 1st-5th listing on my selected keywords.
Athens Windshield
Athens Auto Glass
Gainesville Windshield
Gainesville Auto Glass
Athens Georgia Auto Glass
Athens Georgia Windshield
Gainesville Georgia Windshield
Gainesville Georgia Auto Glass
But I get most of the cities in our coverage area 1st page if not first listing.
If only I was better at html to get a sleeker site :)
I am getting about 5-10 calls or online quote requests per day... including weekends... And I paid around $4 a month for hosting prepaid 2 years at godaddy.com.
If anyone has any suggestions to improve the site I would sure appreciate it.
I am working on a new site http://www.windshieldman.com with just a little different format but basically the same material.
lates!

Wow JohnAnt, you are right about being on the first pages of google and other search engines. You are doing great and you have no PR ranking. We just re did our web site to show the ask for a FREE Quote. A few other tips would be to do an article and add your web site to the end of it. Having a BBB logo at the top of your site helps. I'm going to tweek our web site and put the key words including all of the cities we cover at the top. [I]f anyone wants to link to our website and get better rankings visit our site and fill out the form under links.
