Hello and greetings from the uk.
I am new here and have been fitting for 5 years.
The other night, for the first time, one of my last jobs was to fit a vent glass into the new shape VW Golf, to which as most would know, involves removing the outer door skin.
The 1st problem i had, was the barrel did not want to come out whilst loosening the torx screw. However, after much pressure and lubricant, it did come out.
All else went well except for refitting.
I just couldnt get the door lever correctly fitting flush nor would the barrel hold in position after tightening the torx screw!!
i have been told, EVERYBODY gets caught out on these the 1st time they attempt.
Is there some kind of trick or knowledge in this area?
the install manuals i looked do not mention problems that may occur.
