Okay so last week I did a chip repair on a bullseye chip using RRF485-equalizer windshield repair Resin. It was a rainy day so i did the chip inside. The chip turned out very well, you could see very little of the outline and the impact point was reduced significantly. This week the customer comes back into the shop and all the black is back in the chip. I dont know what the hell happend? The impact point is still filled over, however all the black is in the chip again. Any explination would be a great help. There is no way i can fix this chip to reduce the darkness is there?

It could be may things. The most common reason is becuase of heat. Did you use any heat in this repair?

Sounds like you didn't do any drying prior to resin injection.

you did not dry it out well enough. Resin and water do not mix, when you repaired the chip, you traped some water in the break, It finaly evaperated out of the break and formed a void making it the black "air pocket".

You may have seen a slight discoloration in the repair. I slight milky color if moisture was a problem.

I find that sometimes that air in the chip looks black not sure why. I have also noticed that when the resin cures it shrinks if you havnt sealed the break completly it may have pulled the air back into the break when it cured?

I'd always watch out for moisture
