Now you don't have to turn away a repair job because the windshield was treated with Rain-x. You can make repairs with complete confidence that your repair will hold even thought the windshield was treated in the past. Works regardless of what repair system you use. Does this stuff come with any type of guarantee or warranty? I'd like to try it out on a practice shield that has damages that are contaminated with Rain-X.
If it passes that test, I'd certainly buy it. Any samples available?

Well it oughta be available in samples so techs can try it first and see if it's any good. I try everything on test shields before using it in the field. Oh well.

Think about it this way. If you were to repair a windshield for your customer and by mistake, didn't catch that there was rain-ex or another hydrophobic coating on the windshield and inside the break, you would have made a repair that WILL fail. The cost to you is an angry customer that will have negative things to say about your repair business. Now, if you guarantee your repairs, and are in a position where you must refund the repair fee to said customer, based on an average cost of $40-50 per repair, you would have been better off buying and using the x-phobic for just that one repair, since the repair would then hold, and you wouldn't have a customer complaint. Yes, you should sample the product, but in my opinion, it would be worth it to be able to repair even ONE break that is contaminated with rain-x or another hydrophobic coating rather than simply turning it away, or risking making the repair and having it fail.

I've successfully completed many damages that were contanimated with Rain-X. without using this product. It doesn't mean they "will fail", as you put it. In fact, none have so far. I still think that if a manufacturer wants to sell it's product in a line of business such as ours, they should be willing to provide samples. They do it with resin, so why not do it with this?

As you say: " In fact, none have so far." for not using X-PHOBIC knowing that there was a rain-X type product on the glass..
You have does a great job in your field. 100% even with contamination..

I for one found out what rain X can do to a chip, and this was way before anything I knew of was on the market.... I filled a break under pressure it looked excellent,............. I pulled a vac. and the break totally reappeared. I saw blown away by this and then asked the customer what they have on the glass and then that is when they told me..... I had to walk away from the repair because it would not take any resin....
I check and or ask 90% of my customers now if they done anything to the glass... If in dought I give it a mist with my bottle....
I still need to buy some myself..... I keep forgeting when I order....
NOTE TO SELF: Order: X-PHOBIC, LV, MV.
Meet the minumum order of $100.00 to win the Vegas trip....

Any samples of this stuff available yet? I'd sure like to do my own analysis of it's capabilities.
