Hi guys,

My name is Jay and I have been a maintenance contractor on Hilton Head Island, SC for 18 years. We have probably cleaned millions of all kinds of windows over the years and seen thousands of scratches. Window cleaning is at least 25% of my business. Recently we did a construction clean on a 5 million dollar house and a new hire managed to scratch about 35 windows before we caught this ..... Long story short, he was fired on the spot, I ate the entire cost of the job and now have to either pay for new glass or REPAIR the damage. This cost is in 4 figures already not counting the $1695. for a "Scratch Hog" that I have never used before (or any other scratch removal method).
Please, somebody tell me (an actual owner) that this works and works WELL. Starting a major and skilled repair like this with a DVD for training is more than scary on a VERY expensive house.
One more point. Much of the glass in the house is HURRICANE glass. Is this a problem?

Memorial services for the ex-employee idiot will be held this friday followed by mine if I cannot find a REALLY good solution.

Regards,

Jay (Island General Maintenance)

Jay

I think you said on another post you called GT and talked to one of there guys.

Can you get them to come do a demo in SC to give you a real hands on to give you a better gut feeling on what the polyhog can do?

I had it in the past and what I did with it proved to me it was the boss of scratch removal...

Sorry I may not be much help on the polyhog but a phone call should help to them....

Good luck.

I know nothing about this "Scratch Hog" but I do believe that to be a bit expensive to remove a scratch. I have a compound that I use with a standard Makita drill and 6" polishing pad that cost less than $200 for everything. Myself and the company I work for are not new to the glass industry (80+yrs in the industry) nor the scratch removal, this forum...not soo much. We are also not new to your area, we have had a house in Sea Pines for 30 years. Please feel free to look us up our site is
all of our information is there and it seems like there may be something we can do for you.
