Default Scratch repair using Resin?

Can acrylic resin or some other filler be used to repair scratches (some deep scratches) to avoid
polishing/grinding? I'm aware it can repair chips, but scratches I assume are much different.
I would like a solution that doesn't remove more glass. Also, I heard that clear nail polish has
sometimes been used to repair scratches (maybe not by professionals!)

I actually tried this in a practice windshield. All I can claim is that it did fill the scratch and made it level with the rest of glass. You could still see where it was scratched though.

No it cannot.

The scratch on the glass is actually jagged (rough) unlike a chip. If you don't have any pressure pushing the resin into those tiny crevices they will not fill with resin. Only the top of the scratch may be smooth, but the scratch will still be very visible and look like cr@p.

You need to sand the scratches away the polish the glass back up. Never rush the process because you will waste your time; and will still need to go back and start again.

Practice, practice, practice is the only way you are going to get good at scratch repair; because you need to see the difference on the glass between colored sanding disks. You will also need to build your upper body strength and legs. There is a HUGE difference between sanding a piece of glass on a practice table in the shade and sanding a glass window vertically for 4 to 6 hours straight in the hot sun.
